First time there and it was an amazing experience and one I would repeat again. Everything was excellent from the first greeting right through to the food. I would recommend to friends and family also to you guys. The upside was it is a 2 minute walk from the unit we were staying in.
Don’t think raw chicken is ever ok, specially 6 months pregnant and for a 2 year old… have tried to message them separately and let them know but have not even had a reply from them or anything. Concerning to say the least. Otherwise the food was pretty tasty.
Not much atmosphere to speak of because it's take away. However, the lady at the front desk was absolutely lovely and incredibly kind. She gave us extra chicken wing it was meant for a party of five but there were 6 of us which we appreciated immensely. The food was scrumptious and the serving generous. The pad Thai had a tomato tang which was different from other pad thais we had so I would recommend giving that a miss it you don't like tomatoes. The green curry was fantastic. Overall a fantastic experience
Amazing Chinese food! On the recommendation of Tristan at "Hanmer's Coziest" we found Mr Yunan. We ordered starter and a few dishes. It came to less than we expected, but later realised somewhere along the line one of the dishes was missed-out. However, that was no problem in the end. Mr Yunan delivered our food for free 20-30 minutes later and it was amazing - some of the best we've had in NZ. Much more like a great UK Chinese takeaway than some of the watery take-aways we've usually had in NZ. Even though a dish was 'forgotten' we were totally stuffed on the dishes we did have, and couldn't even finish - a rarity for us! I'd almost go back to Hanmer just for this food - only wish it was a sit-down restaurant and a little easier to find. Parking: Easy parking
Wow!! We had the vegetable green currie and chicken ginger stir fry and both were delicious, the flavors were incredible and everthing was cooked to perfection. They are generous portions too [we had enough to go back for seconds ]. Thanks Mr Yunan
Amazing Thai.. We sat outside on the table provided. We enjoyed out big meal. Nothing left for next day.Food: 5/5
Best Thai food ever. Always buy Thai meals when we travel around NZ and we've had several meals at Mr Yunan, they have all been terrific. Don't hesitate to go there. Friendly staff too.
We craved Asian food and came up Mr Yunan by chance. It was one of those fantastic surprises...such amazing quality. We ordered takeaway. It was ready on time and the portions were good size and the flavour to die for. Thank you!! We will be back for more when in Hanmer.Food: 5/5
Top notch Mr Yunan your food is hands down the best in Hanmer Springs. We make this a regular now and the service is top notch and matches the yummy Asian cuisine. “Sue” is a credit to your establishment and she even gave up porcelain plates while dining in at the cosy single table. Love it. Will visit every time we’re in Hanmer.
I was recently taken by friends to an establishment on The Terrace in Christchurch and paid $30 for an entree of 3 King Prawns and that's literally all that was on the plate! Having just had the Penang Curry from Mr Yunan where I had at least 15 Prawns in this beautiful creamy flavourful dish for $25, I know where I'd rather dine anytime.
