Visited in a group. After spending over a hundred dollars between us on ice-creams and strawberries, the owner wanted us to leave without even getting to enjoy/eat the ice-creams. Owner took completely irrational offence to preschoolers. Seems only grown adults welcome. Owner completely ruined what would have been a nice outing. Won't be going back.
They got our orders mixed up so my partner got a tiny icecream in his flavour and I got a large one in my flavour. We didn't want each other's flavour. Expected a bit more for the price, but the icecream was OK.
We had 2 completely different experiences there but unfortunately the second one has meant we will never return. One great family outing there a few days ago followed by a very terrifying experience today. As part of a ECE trip our 3 and 4 years old went to PYO and enjoy ice creams. While waiting for our ice creams we started to PYO. The kids were enjoying searching for ripe berries until the owner came over shouting and abusing us that we were climbing on rows and eating strawberries. My son literally ate ONE strawberry and we had been carefully stepping over the rows. No plants or fruit were damaged, we were just having a lovely time picking until he came over. We paid for our berries and for our ice cream but while eating our ice cream he told us we had 2 minutes to leave the property or he would call the Police! The children were left scared and very confused as to what they’d done wrong and why they had had the police called on them. We will never be returning here and if you have children please don’t support this business. They’re unfairly strict, old fashioned and solely in business for middle age-elderly adults. They are not interested in supporting families to have a fun day out. Completely ruined our experience and was very unfair to our Tamariki.
Had been wanting a fresh fruit icecream fix and on a beautiful almost summer day Bell Road Berries did not disappoint!!! Boysenberry = Delicious!! Recommended!!
35 mins waiting for a 7 dollar overrated ice cream. 16 dollars for a kilo of self picked berries... Not recommended
Nice spot to PYO, however their ice cream machine broke and it quickly became a 1 hour+ wait for berry ice cream. Luckily they refunded but staff were visibly overwhelmed with customers, still fulfilling orders from customers that had already refunded and left, and then were offering the ice creams to whoever wanted them... Utter chaos so we left.
Absolutely outstanding good quality fruit,friendly atmosphere , and the strawberry icecream was to die for..... Well worth a visit and special on at the moment per pack with the rain we have had.
Easy to find and choice to pick your own or buy ready packaged. They have the best creamiest fresh fruit ice creams around the Bay
Very pleasant way to spend some time hunting and gathering. Beautiful fruit and a great price. And how can you go wrong with one of Mother Nature's little delights?! Didn't try the real fruit ice cream, but it looks amazing and the people who were partaking looked like they were in their own little piece of paradise. Given that I saw a couple drive in just for the ice cream speaks volumes.
Beautiful place to be able to pick your own berries and have an ice cream too. They looked very popular.
