Mount Motorcycles is one of the oldest family owned motorcycle businesses in New Zealand and has been selling and servicing motorcycles for over 45 years. Bill Holmes started the business in 1971, then Ray and Carolyn Holmes purchased it in 1979.
Ray Holmes has many years of experience working on all makes of motorcycles. He started working for W White Waikato Ltd. (agents for Triumph, Yamaha and Vespa) when he was 15 years old. After completing his apprenticeship he became their workshop foreman. From there he went to Brian Scobie Motors (Honda agents) where he was their workshop foreman for three years, he then moved to Mount Maunganui.
Mount Motorcycles is New Zealand’s oldest BMW Motorcycle Dealership and have been selling and servicing BMWs since 1981. With this experience comes a wealth of in-depth knowledge of all BMW motorcycles and their products and accessories. This is reinforced by their staff of Owen, Darryl and Joe. The Mount Motorcycles team has a combined experience of 130 years in the motorcycle industry.
In addition to BMW, Mount Motorcycles are agents for Vespa, PGO and SYM Scooters. Darryl and Joe are our motorcycle technicians, servicing all makes and models of motorcycles and scooters and providing Warrant of Fitness and Brake Compliance checks.
Mount Motorcycles also sell a variety of excellent quality previously owned motorcycles and scooters that have been serviced in the workshop and prepared for resale by Owen.
We have a parts and accessories department which stocks BMW apparel as well as a wide range of BMW riding gear including boots, gloves, helmets, jackets, pants and rain wear.
We also sell a variety of motorcycle gear brands including HJC, Macna, Dry Rider, Givi, FFM and Gaerne.
We sell tubes, tyres, oil, batteries, bulbs and numerous other products to cater for all your motorcycling requirements.
