We came by since it was one of the few places that were open when we were there. The menu is a mix of Chinese food and fish and chips takeaways. They did have tables but dine-in was closed so we grabbed some takeaways to take back to the motel. Ordered through the screen and got a ticket for the order. It took about 10 minutes to get the food which was quite fast. We grabbed a bami goreng and cashew nut chicken. The noodles had a nice heat to it, which was surprising. The cashew nut chicken was nice with a decent amount of nuts. It was standard Chinese takeaway food. Vegetarian options: Vegeterian section on menu Wheelchair accessibility: Doors were flush to the ground with a small ramp to the entrance.
Food was really tasty, one of the better Chinese takeaways especially in sleepy small town. Service was great too. Would recommend.
Absolutely discusting that is unless you like half of the oil from the deep dryer with your order. We purchased fish, chips, spring rolls, pineapple rings, donuts and potato fritters and we couldn't eat it. There was so much oil in the paper you could wring it out to cook your own food.
The food isn't too bad, really. It's just really really expensive! $14 for dumpling soup - the skin was thick and pasty, and $15 for the fried noodles. The portion for the noodles was quite big - 2 portions can feed 3 eaters IMO, and the taste was quite decent with generous ingredients. Probably wouldn't eat here again if we had the chance.
Best Chinese takeaway meals we have encountered during our travels in the South Island so far. The homemade wontons were really, really good!
Do NOT order the dumpling soup here. The dumpling skin is not cooked through. When returned to the kitchen, the chef's explanation was that the dumplings had been frozen. Makes you wonder how long they have frozen it for, as I never had such problem with any of the frozen dumplings I bought and cook myself. Also, this shop charges $2 extra for dinner in!
The notch is at the top for these takeaways. Apologies to my local, this place is better
Much better than my hometown Chinese restaurants where there are many. We'll impressed. The Bahmi Goreng was lovely as well as the combination fried rice.
Don't order the blue cod! OVER PRICED! and the crumbled outside was thicker than the fish. Would not have thought possible to cut fish so thin. Chips just passable.Food: 1/5
I’m giving this review five stars just to help bring the average rating up because this place is well worth a visit. The Bahmi goreng and the sweet-and-sour chicken were stand out dishes for us.
