This can be our little secret. Possibly the best place to camp in NZ in my opinion. think I'll have to lobby for a permanent site there. Open ocean as well as sheltered beaches. Space for every conceivable water sport. Perfect communal grass spaces for the kids to play and mingle.
Very family friendly, tranquil at its finest
Absolutely best campsite we have had after 3 months of camping around the country!! I love the height difference of the whole place and that there are so many cool big trees, it just feels so naturally formed! The views over the ocean, with the amazing big waves are stunning! The toilets are super clean with a sink and everything! Maybe a hot shower could make it even better but honestly I dont care ; Love It!!
Loved this place, never been there & googled where to camp at whaninakei, this came up. We have 3 kids and I was a bit worried but the facilities were fine and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Cant wait to camp there again

- Great recycling facilities - Long drops but they weren’t smelly - Clean facilities - BEACHES ARE INCREDIBLE - Quiet, generous spaces and overall really peaceful. - Staff were wonderful I’ll be back!
