Kia ora ! This page is to support whanau who are seeking a Montessori learning space for their tamariki @ Horohoro School
Horohoro School is providing an exciting learning space - the first national Bilingual Montessori learning space in NZ.
Horohoro school has a rich local cultural heritage and is situated in a rural setting 10 km SW of Rotorua.
The school is close to marae and hahi.
The present roll is 60 and with the bilingual Montessori learning space about 75 children.
Children catch a supplied bus to and from the school.
Horohoro Montessori is to provide a bilingual learning environment that has enrichment programs that include
e learning
permaculture & sustainable studies
environmental studies
music
science discovery
and a third language (Yet to be determined)
(We are fortunate that we have some experienced teacher/ parents who have indicated their willingness to provide input in some of these areas)
It will be:
taught by an experienced Montessori registered teacher
a mixed age classroom environment where children learn
from and with peers.
utilising bilingual Montessori learning materials
allow the child to work at their own pace
part of a community of learners
