Monster Truck Fun
Monster Truck Island is a track for Hot Wheels Monster Truck Miniatures
The Birth of this track came from one boys desire to play in the dirt with his favourite Hot Wheel cars and trucks and his loving father, who couldn't resist playing with Hot Wheels in the dirt.
My son began the track and I assisted him with his tasks until finally his track was complete. Proud of his accomplishment, he wanted his next birthday to encompass the awesome track. So for his 10th Birthday we had all the family over for fun in the sun with Hot Wheels monster trucks and when the sun had gone down the night racing began. Thanks to the addition of solar lighting the track was well lit.
Monster truck Island Features many jumps that will challenge any hand. With a line up of challenges around the track, the first is the biggest. We will follow the Super loop that goes around the outside of the track:
We start with the mighty Super jump. You then head around the Big Bend, to the Little Dipper which leads to the Monster Table Top. This joins into the main trail, we go round the corner to the Little Popper, round and up another popper jump then down to the Step Down which is (great for back flipping trucks), up the hill to Narrow Neck Peak, we round the corner instead of Jumping the Super jump again, down the Big Dipper, up the Volcano round the top of the Volcano Top then back around the 180 corner where we join in with the super loop again, round to the Little Popper, round and up another popper jump then down to the Step Down, which is (great for back flipping trucks), up the hill to Narrow Neck Peak and finish with a Super Jump.
This track can be walked round n round for hours on end.
My son spent many hours building this track and many more playing on it. He also spent his pocket money on the wooden edging, weed mat, wire ties, hose and rope.
I believe this track to be the only Hot Wheels Monster Truck Track of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere, perhaps the only one of its design in the whole wide world.
As we progress through time we have acquired radio controlled trucks. Sticking with the truck theme, we purchased 2 RC trucks, both at 1/16 scale. One is a Monster Truck and the other a Truggy. Soon two of each vehicle will be here for dual racing.
For these we have created a second track. It is the first RC track and is in the shape of an oval. We also have a layout for a second RC track which is a tricky design, ultimately bringing the track tally to three.
In future we may open these tracks up for the public. We have discussed the possibility of making a club that will be great for racers of all ages and genders.
