A beautiful spot overlooking the bay. The owners are friendly and engaging. A great wine, beer and menu selection. The blue cod tasted fresh and although I chose the small meal, it was more than enough!
Called ahead and found the Kitchen closed at 8, but they were more than happy for us to order at our 745 arrival time. Friendly staff all around, food was very generous serving sizes and to a high standard. Really cool decor and we will be back for sure

Great place for a rest stop and have a meal .. It has a smoke free outdoor dining area which is great .. Excellent meals and service ..
Under new management, blue cod serve was not the same size, visited on a cold overcast day and unlike other times. No warm fire going and not the same experience. Driving an hour for a meal we will go elsewhere

Special Place. Take your time and see the Lighthouse . Penguins Sea lions then enjoy the Food at the Tavern' Great service and very helpful and the Food is just Wonderful. Very special part of NZ and a must stop.
Good local pub. Fabulous sea views, friendly staff, tasty food.
