Quality facility that has trained many New Zealand swimmers. But expensive almost double the cost of some pools I have visited while travelling the country. Unlike other, facilities, No discount for seniors or gold card holders either
Great pool with fun hydroslides. Kids and toddlers can use the slides with their dads if they're too small to ride alone. Better than the dumb rules in Chch or AKL where kids under 5 can't use the slides.
The gym is fantastic. With community services card it is the cheapest in the city. Equipment is in great condition. Certain times of the day are busier than others but generally there is no waiting around for equipment. Staff are friendly and helpful.
Aging and poorly-managed pool and gym. Uniquely for NZ it has a 50m pool - which they rarely use!!! preferring instead to put a ridiculous barricade down the middle. It prioritises teenage watersports, you will rarely see serious adults or even uni students here even though Otago Uni has no pool. I assume when Dunedin teenagers grow up they emigrate to Australia where every little local council knows how to run a swimming pool.
Kids like the pool, Hydroslide and diving pool and wave pool. Also kiddies pool and 2 other lane pools.nAt times strong smelling chlorine need a bit more fresh air. Can be hot inside if you are not use to heating.
