Boarder Beware. I boarded here for 2 years. For the last year it really turned sour. Knocking off 1 star for the disorganized scheduling of turn out and lack of communication. Knocking of 1 star for questionable equine disciplining actions by the business owner putting horses in "time out" by tying their heads in a corner and leaving them unattended. Knocking of 1 star for how the barn owner patronizes horse owners by saying she is open for conversation, but if you bring up a situation or concern she immediately blames marketing material even if you researched scientific studies and vet studies and leans on her "30 years of experience" as an excuse for her fixed mindset. Knocking off 1 star for being told my horse was not allowed to return if I took her away to another barn even though she literally just had a vet check, and she brings new horses or visiting horses through the property without any health/isolation practices in place effectively terminating my board contract and then refusing to at least send my horses ration of hay as is stated in her barn rules. I also have not received my initial stall deposit of $450 like an apartment deposit. I would knock off further stars for the fact that she will contact you to help with barn chores, free labor, when something is out of place, or to inform everyone she is charging $20 for holding horses when she never did that before, but doesn't seem to know how to send a text when turn out changes and your horse might benefit from some of your time
what a great time! my mother had never been on a horse before and this was a daughter/mom date! michael matched us up with horses that were a good fit based on our skill sets and personalities. this really was so much more than the other horse riding experiences i have had....we didn't just show up and get on a horse that followed the one in front of them. instead, michael spent time educating us on properly grooming, saddling, and guiding our horses. it was obvious how loved the horses here are. i highly recommend. this is a little gem!
This is our home away from home. Anna is amazing and super knowledgeable on anything and everything horses. My daughter started riding here over 3 years ago, now I ride and my other daughter does as well. We absolutely LOVE it, all the horses, owners and more.
I never leave reviews, but I feel like I need to. I paid for 4 riding lessons and after paying all of that money I only learned how to steer a horse by using my foot. The riding coach was on her cell phone 95% of the time, every lesson. I love horses so my best friend and I decided to pay for a trail ride, hoping that would be better! We paid for a 2 hour trail ride and only rode the horses for 30 minutes. I was completely confused and disappointed. I asked why it wasn't two hours like I had paid for and the response was that since it was just the two of us it didn't take long to tack the horseswe started 30-40min late and it only took us about 20 minutes to get the horses ready. In my opinion, that's more reason to give us the rest of the time to ride that we paid for. The cost of a trail ride was more than I've ever paid and the shortest riding time. I gave it a few days to decide what to do. I emailed requesting to speak to the owner Anna. I was told my request would be given to her, but I never received a call. It has been over a month. I was so excited to have a farm so close to home! I wanted to spend so much time there and I originally told Anna I was interested in also volunteering to clean stalls. I really hope this review helps future horse lovers have a better experience than I did.
Yay!! Despite a little bed mishap, this place was amazing!! A great place for animal lovers, especially horse lovers! The stable houses several different horses, all of which are safe to pet but also respect the horse's body language, and all of the staff and owners are extremely nice!! When we first got there, I got to feed Big Red and Salty a carrot, and later that night I groomed Turner! Side Note: horses are apparently huge. I'm 5'5 and all three of them have at least another foot on me. But yes!! Wonderful place! Accommodating and helpful staff!! 30/10 would go again!! Shout out to Charlie, Zip, and Ohso whose name I may have forgotten how to spell!!
I rode here for a few months in 2016 until I moved to a different barn. I absolutely loved it. I have friends who ride here as well. I would recommend to anyone who would like to get into horses as they teach you how to tack up, brush, ride, and about horses. Staff is very friendly as well.
Visited this beautiful horse farm on the 2022 Campbell County Backroads Farm Tour. Loved talking with the workers and seeing the beautiful horses and facility!
They use children for labor to clean the stables offering them $1.50 per stable. My daughter worked here a whole month and didn't get a dime. I think they use people and are very dishonest people. I would of given them 0 stars but it wouldn't let me.
My granddaughter had lessons when she was 6 yrs old. All the animals she rode were appropriate for her lessons. It was a thrill for her. And for me to watch
Great place for learning how to ride but stalls are horrible and lessons inly teach u how to trot so i dont recommend anything but learning how to ride
