An Artist who likes likes to use a variety of mediums - Painter, Clay, found objects. Her favourite type of art is assemblage, Pop surrealism, Low brow art
Jodi studied at Media arts at Waikato institute of technology where she finished in 2005 with a Bachelor in Media arts and honors.
Involved in the local art community, such as the ‘Old school’ art centre, taking part in the clay shed where she runs various clay workshops with children and has a stall each month at the local ‘Creative market’.
Her paintings are not limited by one medium and with a broad range of style, “every artwork being unique”. She works with oils, acrylics and water colour, painting often on canvas, board or paper also upcycling old retro frames and found objects, seeing the beauty in unwanted possessions.
‘Mutt Face gang’ hand sewn soft toys made with retro fabric and buttons eco friendly, some with hand painted faces…have been described as ‘Frankenstein creations’.
‘Popin Snippets’ Badges, Magnets and earrings made with a range of material, ceramic, cork, wood, felt , retro fabric/wallpaper and children’s books , eco friendly they are made from 95% recycled materials.
The artist enjoys collaborating on shows, involved in running former galleries such as ‘Platform 01 artspace’ Victoria St Hamilton, ‘Gallery east’ Grey St Hamilton and ‘Hive gallery’ Bow St Raglan and worked part time at ‘Jet Collective’.
