This review is tricky for me and in some regards, certainly a five star review is warranted. My husband and I have been a few and have had a good experience. They have a few delicious vegan options on the menu and the drinks are outstanding. However, last evening left a bad taste in my mouth. My sister is here visiting from Canada and we decided to go out for dinner and a few drinks. We were there early and it was quiet. Our servers were both really friendly and as usual the food and drinks were magnificent. My husband had his nice camera with him and asked if we could take a few pictures inside. The lights and atmosphere are super cool and there was not one soul in there. Our server said it was completely fine but after taking a couple of "artsy" type shots, someone who I assume was the manager rudely came over and told us that wasn't okay, no explanation no, apologies, and completely impudent. I mean, fine, I guess if you have a reasonable explanation for us, but I don't see the issue of taking a few fun pictures. One would assume fun is the aim of an evening out. It's fine if they don't want us taking pictures, it's their place and they can have whatever silly rules they want though, seriously, how many people take pictures there throughout a night?! Don't know if we'll be back again

Always good food, great service every time we go here. Staff are so friendly and helpful. Drinks are great too. Love the menu. Location is nice, view down to the water.
Excellent sharing food, let down by slow service and an inexpert bar better suited to a niteclub. The round of opening drinks came out at different times. We were warmed of a delay, but the venue was probably only 70% full. Our frozen margarita was so heavy with salt you could float on it. It was undrinkable. The previously breezy waitress suddenly got all salty herself when we ordered a replacement and told her why. Later, they reversed the charge unbidden. They forgot the whiskey order, then when reminded, it came in a shot glass. Nope, not right at all. Someone was taking the piss. It was likely the bartender, who one of us later discovered, when chatting at the bar, to be dull and grumpy.
Great friendly staff and super yummy food
I would have rated this bar higher based on the quality of the drinks and the good atmosphere, however I was literally in the middle of taking some nice photos to do this Google review with, and I had a very, very rude employee stop me and accuse me of taking what he said were "promotional shots" or something, even though my waitress said it was perfectly ok when I asked her if I could take a few pictures. He was very paranoid, and it really ruined our night afterwards. It was so strange and rude I will now not go back personally, but if you want a really good cocktail I would say you might not find a better one in Tauranga. Such a bummer for me and my wife as we just moved here and were really excited to have this as our local. Also to be fair our waitress was also lovely. That's why I'm giving 3 starts instead of 5 or 1. We enjoyed it up to that point.
Such a great welcoming spot, very lovely staff. Great food. Will definitely be coming back next time I’m in the area.
