Jolie and the Team create and hold a safe and nurturing space to explore personal healing and how to extend that out to healing connections with others. The workshop definitely gives you what you need rather than what you might want!; and no matter where you are on your well-being journey, you will leave the weekend enriched, more knowledgeable, more confident in your skills and abilities and 100% hungry for more. Bring on the next workshop Manawa Ora!
I can't believe the difference your service has made to my everyday life. Jolie is extremely talented and really gets to the cause of the problem with amazing care and communication. I am looking forward to my next visits and highly recommend this service.
Our Mirimiri workshop in Bluff was many different things for me. My body and mind felt so relieved to be back into a healing space after many years absent, and it gave me permission to be who I want to be. I loved the rākau self treatment we learnt and I felt the benefits of that straight away. From this workshop, I will connect with others from Dunedin so we can practise on each other and continue to learn. Thank you Jolie, Rob and Jules
I did not know what to expect but did go, after I booked a slot in the mirimiri road show of the south island in March 2022. This weekend workshop in the beautiful Marae in Bluff did give me a first insight into the Maori art of healing. Jolie Davies and her team are really knowledgeable and I have the feeling this is the real deal and not some new age stuff. I am not sure how this workshop will influence my future life but it clearly made me think in some different directions than before. I am from Germany and feel that some of the content is not new to me but it confirms what people know about people in the deepest sense of the word in cultures around the world. I felt safe in this group of people who choose to spend a weekend together learning and healing. What a privilege to be able to be part of this. I wish mirimiri and romiromi would become more available and part of our everyday culture in New Zealand. THANK YOU!
Went for the first time. Forgot to mention the lingering pain in my shoulder, bicep and scapula caused by my second covid jab. The Practitioner found the issues very quickly, worked on them for an hour, and I now have mobility in the shoulder and scapula. Still pain in the bicep where the initial injury was caused but that's pretty spectacular !! I've gone to physio and the GP with no real change. Kiaora and nga mihi, this is so awesome because it's been 2 years and I finally have my shoulder mobility back
I recently attended Manawa Ora Foundations of mirimiri and romiromi workshop at Te Rau Aroha Marae in Bluff. I've had a pulling to connect in te ao Māori. My wairua was crying out for it!! I didn't know I was going to attend this workshop. My tipuna guided my direction..and I arrived Jolie is straight up in her teaching. No B.S here! Jolie gives you want you need, not what you want!! Learning the mātauranga and tikanga in this supportive group environment whānau was complete soul food Jolie, Julz and Rob tautoko and guide you. Within this strong beautiful group, I felt so much awhi, aroha and haumaru safety Coming into this wananga I was having universal "drop ins". After the first day I spent the evening with te rākau that led me into practicing yoga. I hadn't practiced yoga for months!! I experienced a massive flush of energy during the wananga. Since wananga, I've continued to feel energy shifts. I feel more in tune, my pathway has been cleared and laid out for me, fear of the unknown path is leaving, I have practiced yoga daily, te rākau has become my BFF . I'm so much more in sync with my whānau and environment, I ran through the ngahere! I don't run . My energy has increased, I'm more in balance, my heart is open, my boundaries feel stronger. I have been practicing my tools on whanau.. sheesh, we need to teach our tane to BREATHE!! If you are considering a wananga or mirimiri with Manawa Ora.. Stop considering. Get in te Waka Remember, you will get what you need not what you want, and that is the greatest gift you can receive Thank you Te Rau Aroha Marae for beautiful kai an the opportunity to soak into this enriching space. Manawa Ora, excited for our next chapter together to drop in. Nga mihi
I attended a Mirimiri and healing workshop in Wellington with Manawa Ora Mirimiri and Workshops to learn the foundations of miri miri, romi romi, Maori health and healing from a Te Ao Maori perspective. I went with intentions of filling my kete matauranga knowledge basket and came away with so much more. Adding to my own journey of self-healing with a much needed “jump start” as Matua Rob called it, igniting my connection back with my tipuna/tupuna ancestors, papakainga homelands, and Te Ao Maori. Im so grateful to connect with so many cool people and to find confidence in my own voice and understandings through waananga and waiata. The knowledge learnt from Jolie and the team is invaluable. Looking forward to where this new awareness will take me but I’m confident that my new learnings will only help and support myself and my whanau. So thankful and grateful.
Amazing experience! Awesome crew! I’ve found for me Miri is much more beneficial than physiotherapy whilst awaiting knee surgery. Physiotherapist tend to focus on strengthening when in my case I need to treat the symptoms before I can move on to strengthening. Finally managing to get a good nights sleep. Rongoa Maori is both a physical and spiritual healing journey for me. I’m so stoked to be on this journey with Manawa Ora. Highly recommend!
I had been searching online to find an indigenous healing modality as I had been brought up receiving such work. I came across a video of the Manawa Ora clinic and heard many testimonials of people healing from chronic pain/trauma with Mirirmiri. I saw they were about to have a workshop in lower hutt and jumped at the chance to learn an introduction to this ancient traditional Maori healing, Mirimiri. This workshop would change my life. I learned so much and made connections with beautiful healers. We worked on each other, ate, sang, laughed, cried, learned and healed together. I was also very excited that there was also an opportunity to have Mirirmiri by a practioner at the Manawa Ora clinic following the workshop. I have had chronic pain in my right shoulder for many years. And for months I have had chronic pain in my right hip. With the shoulder it would tense up and give me a tight neck, sometimes headaches and TMJ. The hip bothered me so much it would at times cause muscle spasms in my lower back. I would have trouble getting comfortable to go to sleep. After attending the workshop and  just one Mirimiri session at the Manawa Ora clinic my pain melted away. The Mirimiri was intense but I felt safe and cared for. It was a deep and profound experience and I had a huge emotional release. I was holding onto trauma deep in my body. I'm so happy to say a week later I still have no pain or tightness in either my shoulder or hip. I'm sleeping better than I have in ages and I haven't felt any neck stiffness, headaches TMJ or muscle spasms. I feel light and free. I can't recommend this ancient traditional Maori healing modality enough. You have to experience it to know how deeply healing it is. I'm so very grateful to the Manawa Ora team. I will be back when I feel called to maintain my body/mind/spirit.
A bit lost for words as I write this. I would like to express my deep grattitude, aroha and appreciation to Jolie and the team at Manawa Ora. A wānanga that I highly recommend for all who embark on their journey to healing self. No matter what level of understanding or walk of life you may come from, you will gain a plethora of skills, knowledge and awareness about yourself from a holistic point of view. A safe learning environment that is warm and welcoming, Jolie and her team of 'angels' ensure the energy and vibe is maintained. Holding space for all to feel supported during times of vulnerability and expression that is free of judgement and full of aroha and compassion. Ngā mihi maioha ki a kotou te whānau, Pāpā
