Mills Lodge is in the Canterbury foothills west of Christchurch and is dedicated to horse breeding and training. The Lodge is now also a fully functioning Equestrian Centre including an indoor arena (17sqm) and outdoor lime clip surface dressage arena (16 x 20). It is just a short distance off the sealed road and offers magnificent high country views and river riding.
Mills Lodge stud's focus is the breeding and training of well-schooled sport horses suitable for all ages and experience levels. Denise Wright, the owner of Mills Lodge, has a wide experience of breeding and has been involved with horses for over 40 years and has been running Mills Lodge for the past 10 years.
Horse trekking is a significant interest of Denise's and she has participated in many treks in various parts of the country including involvement with the Christchurch Hunt Club.
The rivers, mountains, forest, and countryside make trekking and training at Mills Lodge an enjoyable and rewarding experience.
This new equestrian Centre is now open for the public to come and use, it provides the perfect schooling environment for your horse at all stages. Denise can also provide lessons for anyone training their horses using the Classical Baroqe technique.
