We happened upon this place by accident. We were looking at other places to dine but most places were booked and so we ended up here and how fortunate we were. The atmosphere was really amazing. A typical pub feel but very rustic as well. We ordered calamari, Mike’s fried chicken and prawns as starters and seafood chowder, beef burgers and chicken burgers and drinks. We were not disappointed. The food was amazing. The beer battered chips were too frickin good. Great evening and good food. We missed the live band though. Will come again.
The best local Taranaki craft beer is brewed /served here!!! Love the food and amazing vibes. The staff are very helpful and friendly.

This is the bar you want to visit on NP. The atmosphere is pretty rural but super fun. What is more, the beer is fantastic and you should definitely try the juicies. If you are lucky Mike will regal you of how it happened - an inspiring host and love to Carol is partner as well. Great pub and worth a tour.Food: 5/5
I don’t live in New Plymouth, so I’m not a regular customer. Therefore, I don’t know whether some of the staff are better. But we got the wrong things; the fish and chips weren’t beer battered, and the stir fry was basically noodles! The chips and nuggets weren’t bad but very small. And this is a brewery, and they didn’t serve alcohol on this day in particular ‍
Although my daughter enjoyed her waffles and the calamari and prawn starters were decent, overall our meal was quite disappointing. The pork belly my elderly father ordered was so overcooked and dry, lacking any sort of flavor and served with a not particularly nice gravy - he had so been looking forward to it as it was meant to be a real treat, and not at all cheap. My mother's noodles were very bland. The rice in our two bento bowls seemed stale and some grains undercooked, and I don't think the tomato paste in the pasta had been cooked out properly. I'm not sure if we simply caught the restaurant on an off-day, but unfortunately, our experience with the food wasn't great. Perhaps this place is better suited for those looking for a good beer. In the future, I would suggest that you focus on improving the quality of the food - this was not a busy time and yet there was very little care in the food and it showed. It would also be good to encourage staff to be more attentive to customers needs by checking how things are going and clearing plates. I genuinely hope the restaurant takes this feedback into consideration and improves the quality of their dishes and then we may come back to try again.
We up from welly. Im pretty fussy. Ex chef etc. Mike has done awesome job of the rustic eclectic decor. Meals were great. Only 3 options on dessert. Bit bland. Mike came over for a chat. Nice touch.
This place was amazing! I am an IPA lover and I was surprised that I found great Hazys. Paradise! The BBQ ribs were beyond spectacular! 1000% recommended!Food: 5/5
The food was very nice..Brittany was our waitress she was very good but she was the only one on that day and it started to get busy..we were there at 12.30pm.
Amazing place. Good food. Good beer . Fast service. Really love the electronic way to order- very efficient! Highly recommend! Nice and helpful staff - I've mixed up with my order and they fixed it without any problem.Food: 5/5
