Filled out the online template to request a quote. Supposed to hear back in three working days. No contact. Tried a second time, no contact. Tried ringing them on consecutive days, calls go through to answer phone.nnNot sure if this company is still operating, if it is it has major issues. AVOID.
Metro Glass did a great job of retrofitting double-glazing into our property - no complaints on the install, however, their post-install communication is a massive disappointment compared to the great installation they provided:nn- It took them several weeks to fix a leak in one of the window frames - multiple appointments were arranged to fix it and were missed, and the fix itself was to silicone part of the frame, which took all of a few minutes.n- We wanted to swap two of the windows one has a cat door installed, and we wanted to move it elsewhere. Despite numerous emails and calls, we could never reach them and never heard back.nnIt's really disappointing as their installation was fantastic - the team did an awesome job - but the lack of communication after installation is really disappointing. Something to bear in mind when choosing a double glazer.
Metro performance glass MPG was one of three companies we approached for a quote for retro double glazing.nnOur quote timeline was tight as we were co-ordinating quotes from double glazing, solar and scaffolding companies and needed to make a decision within three working days of MPG’s visit. I explained this to the sales rep. Tony and my parting question as he was leaving was to confirm with him that he would get the quote to me before Wednesday 7 Sept he measured our windows on Friday 1 Sept in the late morning.nnTo manage health and safety requirements, Tony took numerous photos to run past his installer as another glazing company only required scaffolding on one side of our property at my expense and quotes were in motion and they would also be using their own mobile scaffolding unit + ropes / harnesses to access windows from our roof.nnOn the plus side:n- MPG has a well laid out website that’s easy to follow and they had the best online overview of glazing options of the companies that I approached for quotes.nn- The sales rep. was on time and brought along samples, including privacy glass, which helped me to better understand what the finished product would look like.nnOn the negative side:n- Despite proclaiming that he was producing a “real time” quote – as he was inputting each window measurement into his computer it was producing a quote which included a table outlining prices for each of four glazing options; I never got to actually see the quote.nn- Tony’s assurance that he would get the quote to me within the three working days wasn’t met. Another glazing company, facing the same situation, sent me the quote and arranged for their installer to view the property to assess scaffolding requirements. Their quote explicitly stated the cost of the retro glazing, separately from the scaffolding so that I could choose their scaffolding provider or organise my own. MPG could have followed the same approach and released their quote on the day.nn- I do not know why I never received their quote, this highlights to me either:n- my quote is lost in their system due to poor systems /nprocesses, orn- their installer failed to get back to them, orn- they decided they no longer wanted to quote on my property.nnEither way the lack of any follow-up communication speaks volumes – it is very unprofessional and reflects poorly on MPG.
Absolutely awful communication. They don't reply to emails, don't answer basic questions, take days to respond or require multiple follow-ups. Don't waste your time with them.
Multiple reworks, lots of scratches in the glass. Poor communication and terrible lead time. Would recommend Viridian Glass instead
