If you are looking for a quiet, relaxed atmosphere with quality camping and accommodation options and great facilities, then Mercury Bay Holiday Park is the perfect base for you and your family. A 600m, flat, easy walk to restaurants, shops, wharf and swimming beach means you can leave the car, campervan, motorbike or pushbike at the Park and easily explore Whitianga on foot.
We are a scenic 2.5hour drive from Auckland, Hamilton, or Tauranga.

Great inexpensive campground with large, mostly shaded sites and good clean facilities, including a covered BBQ area with several BBQs. The washing machines are only $2 with ample clothesline space and supplied pegs.Service: 5/5
Firstly, the campground seems like a great place for family’s wanting a nice camping experience. But using the cabins wasn’t fantastic. 5 night stay, wifi was not working and a lot of rules that the owners stated before we came here where broken and poorly enforced. People where walking in freely and making noise after the curfew. The cabin our family of 3 stayed out had a tv which kept losing signal and cutting out, while our beds where rather uncomfortable and at the sides and under had not been cleaned. The campground itself seems more suited to family’s in tents and even then it might not be great. Overall won’t be staying again.
Just had 2 x nights camping 15-16 Feb, all facilities were lovely and clean, tent area was spacious, staff all great, would stay again.Service: 5/5
We camped here. The location was good. The kitchen was far too small for the number of people using it. The price was overpriced compared to other sites we have stayed atRooms: 1/5
Overall campground facilities have what you need, with a good BBQ area. We stayed in a 2 bedroom unit, which we were extremely shocked to find the smoke alarm did not work or have any batteries, which is a health and safety hazard! Hopefully going forward the owners check the other cabins to avoid this happening in the future. The cabin also had mold, horrible beds, with curtains that would not block out bright lights outside. We regret staying here.
We camped here with our caravan for 6 days in August 2023. A very well run camp, Beautifully kept & clean facilities and every amenity you require whilst in camp - all conveniently placed throughout the camp. The Manageress was friendly & helpful when we had to extend our stay due to a broken door latch. A small camp - not so suitable for large vans such as ours - especially in peak times. But in off peak as we were, it wasn't a problem. Easy walking distance to the town.
Have stayed at camp in caravan twice big sites clean tiolet showers etc locals very pleasant very cheap fees close to town office persons very helpful will stay again when in townService: 5/5

Spent 3 nights with kids using powered campsites. Great facilities, kids enjoyed playground, swimming pool and making new friends. Having our tent just by playground was great as we could look after the kids from our tent. Nice lady at reception. Clean and tidy facilities. Will be back!
Sam & Luke are AMAZING! The best hosts you could have. I have been coming here for 20 years and this place has become even better having Sam and luke here. All the facilities are always clean and tidy and a bonus - you dont have to pay to use the shower. The playground, TV room and pool is so handy for your children on those wet days. Now that i have my own children I will be bringing them back here every year. 3 years in a row now and many more to come. This campground should be top 10!
