We were looking for Singaporean/Malaysian food and found this restaurant in Prebbleton. We ordered the Beef burger MK and Nasi Lemak Ayam Goreng. The Beef burger has an interesting taste and it was good. It has black pepper sauce and the beef patty is wrapped in egg. For the Nasi Lemak Ayam Goreng, it brought me back to my Singapore days. It was really good. The sambal was good as well. I ordered Te Ais and the taste was really close. The staff/owner was also accommodating. If I crave again for Malaysian food, I will definitely come back. Hopefully that time their Chicken Rice is available.

We had Roti canai with dhal,nNasi lemak ayam berempah,nMee goreng mamak,nNyonya kari laksa, and teh tarik for lunch . I came here with my family of 10 and it’s safe to say that we absolutely love the food here. It’s the most authentic Malaysian dish we’ve ever had in New Zealand. The chef was friendly and his dishes were Michelin star worthy. His attention to detail and the quality of each condiments deserves every bit of compliment. We’ve tried almost everything on the menu but I highly recommend the Char Kuey Teow and Nasi Lemak Ayam Rempah. Melaka Kopitiam definitely set a high bar for Malaysian restaurants in NZ
