Outlet looks ok clean and tidy. Staff refused or in other words directed me to self order when I wanted to order at the counter. May be due to covid I guess. Drive through operates. McCafe is operating. Onsite parking available. If u r after a 24x7 operating junk food outlet, Mc is the only choice as far as I know.
Can not give a rating for food, atmosphere or service as we did not have the opportunity to try. As a visitor to this place, it was disappointing when we visited for the following reasons. Arrived around 1130pm on the 5th January. There were at least 5-6 people in the restaurant eating and laughing, and we were told the restaurant was closed. We joined the queue of approximately 12 vehicles ahead of us. After half an hour waiting, only one vehicle had moved ahead then the waiting began again. Just after 1am only 2 cars had moved forward and 3 others had parked behind me. Totally disappointed at the long wait time and we had travelled all night and we're hungry. Left hungry and tired.
It's a hit n miss really, I live 2 houses away spend a good 80-100 dollars everytime and don't get full orders usually somethings always missing, in saying that, my last order they missed I went back 2 days later to let them know and it was sorted ASAP no questions asked.Food: 3/5
At 3:45 am on Wednesday the 25th. is Was served by a young lady by the name of Kathleen, was met with “anything else?” After every item I stated. When I said “ “yes there’s more” I was met with a heavy sigh. When I said that’s all. It was a dull “drive thru” and when I got to the window I was met with an eye roll when I didn’t have payWave and there’s was no “hello” or “thanks”. Then when I got to the second window my drinks lids weren’t on properly so drink spilled all over me and had the bag basically chucked at me and the window slammed. I was very polite to her and I expect more from a grey shirt manager… not good enough.
The slowest drive thru ever. 53 mins to process 12 vehicles. No foot traffic as after 9.00. Totally not fast..... Unless you have an hour to wait don't botherFood: 2/5
Very poor customer service from most staff especially the younger ones no smile no respect They also forget items eg for delivery, drive thru and face to face in restaurant ordering.Food: 3/5
If you are looking for a really "fast" fast food then it's a great place to either dine in or drive through from. The environment is very clean and nice. The customer service not so much and food is not that good either, but worth the buck. Plus you have to beg for ketchup
Arrived about 10 minutes before the interior closes at 9.00pm for a drink only, We were almost locked out, treated rudely by girl starting cleaning. It should have been started a lot earlier as shop & toilets were disgusting and I'm not a fussy person.
HEADS UP - if the staff say ice cream is 'unavailable' that means they can't be bothered to fill the machine. It's a 10 min job and the staff are too lazy to fill it and just say ice cream isn't available. The reason I know this is because a family member who worked there witnessed it time and time again. Poor very very poor.
This was one of the best McDonald's restaurants in Hawkes Bay, however, the last six months they have largely let themselves down. Food is cooked and sent out quickly, and taste is as you'd expect from Maccas. The restaurant though is a big let down. They spent a large amount of money re-doing the restaurant a year or so ago and had it looking great, but now it is consistently filthy. From tables not being cleared, to the floor littered with paper and food scraps, the feel of the restaurant front of house feels let go and uncared for. Maybe this is a lack of cleaning crew? But regardless, I personally haven't felt great eating food around literal rubbish. They have had more than long enough to address this disgusting issue. I'd avoid this Maccas dining in experience at all costs as it is not good.
