Story

Following gaining his Salespersons Certificate in 1996, Maurice continued to study and is fully qualified with AREINZ status and is a Licensed Real Estate Agent under the REAA 2008.

Maurice has achieved Top 2% - rated amongst the top two percent of real estate practitioners in the Professionals Group throughout New Zealand for twelve consecutive years and has achieved the status of 'Golden Legend' within the group.

Maurice continues to reach milestones and regularly achieves awards for top performances.

Maurice has a background in rural employment and small business having gained experience and qualifications in the Stock and Station Industry, worked as a Stock Agent and has also been a Dairy Farmer in a share milking position. He has owned and operated five retail businesses including Fruit and Vegetables, Grocery and Fast Food outlets.

Throughout his real estate career Maurice has specialised in rural property building up a large data base of clients and a long list of successful sales in all categories, including dairy, lifestyle, horticultural and coastal properties. He has also handled a wide variety of rural subdivisions in the Whakatane District.

Together with his wife Lee-Anne and two children he lives in the rural district of Awakeri where they run a small dry stock farm. He has an excellent understanding and knowledge of the local market and has the confidence, ability and experience to successfully promote and sell all types of property.

Maurice is supported by a very well managed and successful company, ‘The Professionals Whakatane Ltd', plus an excellent team of administration staff and a group of very experienced sales colleagues.

In 2009 Maurice became a co-owner and Director of the Company. Clients can be assured of his 110% commitment to handling their real estate needs.

TEAM APPROACH

Maurice Butler, Kirstie Richardson and Lee-Anne Butler form the Professionals Rural Sales Team. They regularly transact over half the total number of rural properties sold by real estate companies in their area of operation.
Over rmany years – 2017, 2016, 2015, 2014, 2013, 2012, 2011, 2010, 2009, 2008, 2007 and 2006 the Team has won top Rural Office for the Professionals Waikato/Bay of Plenty Region.

With many years of real estate experience in rural property, the team are committed to ongoing professional education and training. They are fully supported back in the office by an experienced and dedicated administration team.

The Professionals is the longest serving real estate company in Whakatane, with over 53 years in business. The company is owned by Kathryn McKay and Maurice and Lee-Anne Butler. Maurice is also a Company Director.

As well as Maurice’s extensive rural background, Kirstie comes from a retail and service background and grew up on a farm.

Lee-Anne is a licensed salesperson, has a Bachelor of Management Studies and is a qualified Chartered Accountant, these skills compliment her role in the rural team.

Through their life experiences to date, Maurice and Kirstie have built up solid and extensive contact networks with Lee-Anne maintaining a professional network in the Accounting field. Lee-Anne is also a shareholder in the Company.
