I was looking for a place to take my elderly dog for a swim, close to the water. Ches is 17 and I am in a wheelchair, recovering from 13 leg fractures.nThe gate was open and I saw two nice girls from the local Marae and asked them, who said you are always welcome on a Marae. I could even go through the main entrance if I wished. A very kind gesture, representative of their culture and roots with the Marae. I am a Pakahea, so nice to feel welcome. I hope myself and others if feasible would do the same.
