Matipo Primary is a well equipped, child-focused school in Te Atatu Peninsula.

Story

Matipo Primary is situated on a 2 hectare site adjoining the Henderson Creek Estuary and Taipari Reserve. It is a well equipped school set in a very pleasant environment. Our staff and programmes are of the highest quality.

The purpose of Matipo School is to educate the children of our community to the best of our ability. We do this in a positive, caring learning environment and aim to develop the whole child – physically, emotionally, intellectually, socially and culturally.

Children are seen as individuals and we aim that each child may grow to be the best person that they can be and that they may help others to do the same.

Fantastic school with excellent staff! The teachers are dedicated and provide a nurturing environment for the students.
My old primary and a school my mother taught at and helped run for many years. It has had its ups and downs but seems to ride them pretty well and has been a consistently good school. They've just lost a good principal and are struggling under a commissioner with no proper educational background at all. I'm sure they'll survive this but it is a shame to see it happen.
Matipo School is a great place to develop and extend our Tamariki. The School has a great community and attracts excellent teachers. 2020 is going to be an exciting year, starting out under the guidance of a new interim principal Linley Myers. Parent since 2017
Matipo is a great school and Mr Wright was doing a fantastic job in bringing the school forward and into current educational practices. It’s a shame a small but loud group couldn’t see past their egos and see the ethos that was being set.
A wonderful school that has withstood the nasty interference of a small parental lobby and a Commissioner clipping the ticket. Fortunately a strong leadership group established by the former principal remains intact.
Great primary school. Beautiful grounds. Friendly office staff. Class rooms are well organised, devorated and resourced. Lovely families.
I've been to lots of schools and this is by far the best, it's a big school and there are lots of kids and lots of playgrounds It is also a school with lots of trees and plants. I would definitely recommend it as a school.
