Matamata House Washing

Friendly on arrival, great customer service. Competitive rates. I stayed in room 5, the bed was just what the doctor ordered very comfortable. Only improvement I recommend is the shower area could do with an update. Thank you for a comfortable night, Recommend to use this motel.Rooms: 4/5

The owner was genuinely lovely and helpful. 3/4 rooms were lovely and r furbished, mine was updated but so small in comparison. Our access to the bathroom meant you had to walk around a table and chair. A smaller bistro table would be better. We were only there for one night but the traffic was loud all night long, so not much sleep. Walkability: Very close to town for an easy walk to dinner. Noteworthy details: Lovely maintained property, places for kids to play, pool, laundry lines.

Very poorly designed rooms, no power sockets near the bed, only one bedside table. Mirrors with no shelving so a pain to put makeup on. Shower pressure really bad, and tv badly situated. Also could hear neighboring rooms conversations, so should be better soundproofing. This was sold as a superior room, but did not deliver.

Got caught in the Gorge overnight road closures, had to drive to Waihi via Tauranga, made it to Matamata, called the Motel, they took out call at 1am, checked us in so we had a place to stay instead of a 3hr drive! The place was immaculate, the best I’ve stayed in. Open and airy, clean and exceptionally well maintained. I’d recommend this to anyone visiting, great location, very reasonable price and wonderful owners.

They were accommodating for us and we extended out trip to turn up a day earlier than expected. Friendly and helpful for us when traveling so far for a funeral and pool was great plus spaRooms: 5/5

Second time here and it is perfect! It’s a great stop for us coming from Napier to Auckland. The kids LOVE the play area, spa and pool. Diann & Tony have been here 40 years this year he tells me and you can feel it. This place has had everything poured into it. Lovely decorated rooms, comfy beds, great pillows…just a great spot to rest for a night or 5 : And only 2 min walk to town where you can get great Coffee and pastries at The Coffee Gallery!

The friendliest welcome, excellent facilities and and a lovely cosy room. Brilliant!
