Super cool little spot. We arrived late and left early but the facilities were clean and comfortable. Good spot before heading to Hobbiton! We loved the fireplace in the common area and the garden outside and mismatched patio furniture gave it an edgy vibe. Staff was very kind and accommodating, the only reason I gave one less star was because the shower wouldn’t stay on consistently, which is probably better for water consumption.
Our night was dreadful in this Hostel. We stayed for one night and we had to leave early the next morning. We couldn't sleep because people were too noisy until very late. The next morning when I got out of my bedroom, the people from the next bedroom said to me smiling and laughing "hey good morning, hope we didn't keep u up too late last night". I would never recommend this place to anyone. At least staff was friendly.
Such a nice hostel! Not expensive, small dorms only 4 beds, very friendly staff, clean, fully equipped kitchen, and lots of games, etc around. Geez, they even have a piano! Wish I could have stayed longer, the best hostel I've seen in NZ so far.
Comfortable, clean and very friendly. The whole atmosphere is inviting and full of natural lighting. The living room has a cozy fireplace, the kitchen is clean with gas as well as electric stove stops. The rooms feel new and very nice. Loved my stay.
Fantastic experience here! I stayed just one night. I had a private room and the bed was so comfortable. I had a great night's sleep. The heater was perfect for the chilly night. This is also very close to the meeting point for Hobbiton tours. About a 5 minutes walk. Can't wait to come back!
We stayed here for the night before we went to Hobbiton. We were greeted by a lovely girl who was very friendly and helpful. The layout of the place was very different to most Backpackers I've stayed at before. I really liked it, had a funky and welcoming village feel to it. Our room was very clean, warm and tidy and the facilities provided everything we needed for good quality budget accomodation. I will definitely remember this place when needing accommodation in this area again!
This place was amazing! All of the employees were super welcoming, and the atmosphere was very chill. Nice sized and clean kitchen, plus plenty of restrooms for everyone. The room was clean and we loved the set up of everything, definitely one of the best hostels I’ve stayed in.
Good facilities; kitchen showers etc. Great WiFi and ping pong table. Quite a social hostel and the room was nice. It was a little small and got hot during the night, didn't feel all that secure as the only window to open was either closed or open large enough for someone to fit though. It didn't however bother me just a thought for those leaving valuables in the room. Comfy beds.
Without a doubt this is my favourite hostel I've been to! It has a lovely cozy atmosphere, a lounge with a wood burning fire place and it's lovely to sit there next to the fire and give the cat and dog some attention while reading my book! Reminds me of home<br/>Kitchen it great with an abundance of herbs and spices to choose from and also has an outside cooker for the sunny days and also a BBQ area.<br/>Games room, an AstroTurf area great for exercise, a large seating area and the rooms are lovely "cabin like" rooms. Lovely quiet little place and on my way back to Auckland I'll be stopping in here again!<br/>And to top it off Lauren the owner is a brilliant host. Feels more like a home stay!<br/>Highly recommended!
My favorite hostel so far on my trip! Friendly and helpful staff who really care about the hostel and their guests. They always make sure the kitchen and the toilets is clean which is very nice I wished I stayed longer than 2 nights
