Prettiest public toilet entrance in New Zealand, if not the world. Quaint oldy worldy wee village with a number of snack / eating places and a comfortable cinema. Plus the Bacon Factory for an honest to good Bacon Butty - the reason why you are not a vegetarian!. Parking is not a problem and the main street is clean.
You’ve got to catch the iconic Matakana “waterworks” structure aka toilet when you visit. Love the little town. Cherry blossom trees were not as pretty in November. Wish we went earlier in spring instead.
Such a gorgeous village, so many beautiful artisan stores...make sure you get into the bakery ringa wera. The market is one of the best in the country, imo!
Such a beautiful village. Enough shops for you to have everything you need while camping or staying here. Everyone's super friendly and welcoming
Absolutely love Matakana Kitchen. The shopping here is not really to my taste, but the markets every second weekend are great
Third time here. Large choice menu food is great and brunch prices very good. Try the homemade coconut bread - excellent
Quaint little town. We did a lunch stop and went to the pottery gallery which is great if u want to get a unique gift from here.
Cute little village with lots of cute shops and good food!
Interesting market. Love the stalls there, classic and nice. Sakura is the right time. Should go when you are free.
Average offerings, quite a few places closed. Busy but without vibe. Just a stop over rather than a destination in my opinion
