Single bed in urgent need of replacement, ended up sleeping on couch. Clean and Tidy with spacious room but bed is one of the worst I have ever tried to sleep on. Springs poking into back with the middle of the bed having no support left.
Terrible place to stay. Hard beds, shower head paint peeling and coming off the nozzle onto us. Black silicon in bathroom.nBeds were worse than prison beds. I had to sleep in the single bed while my partner slept in the double as it was too painful on my hips.nnOwner is only worried about profit.
Super cool manager...always a smile and helpful manner. Made you feel welcome and reminded me of a bygone era where guests were treated as such. Prepared to go the extra mile for stay to be as comfortable as possible. Definitely a huge asset to the establishment. Room was very spacious with French doors out to the garden. Retro feel to it. Would most definitely be my first choice if traveling through Masterton again. Loved it.
Tired, dated, dirty and depressing.nThis motel is dingy and sad. No Maintenance or upkeep in decades. Furnishings are very old and unkept, bed is uncomfortable with flat hard pillows. Honestly I don’t think anything has been updated, fixed or properly cleaned since the 70’s. No safety features key has motel and room number on it nothing more than simply flimsy locks on both doors. I did not feel safe at all.nMiserable
Overall, we had a pleasant stay and considering the price is lower than most in the region it's reasonable value.nThe bathroom seems to have been updated in the last couple of years as has the carpet. There are no kitchen facilities, and no milk supplied but this is quite clearly stated. The room was clean and tidy though the gardens look neglected - consider it 'meadow-style' surroundings. :nThe standout feature was the owner/manager Eric Lai who was kind and friendly to deal with at all times.
