We enjoyed a meal here before our flight out of Bay of Islands. So glad we ended our trip here, because was the best meal we had. We enjoyed a long leisurely lunch with an amazing view. Everything we ordered was delicious and we were able to take a stroll through the vineyards. Our server went above and beyond by writing us a little note with recommendations for our next destination. The best service and food we experienced in Bay of Islands.
Over its two decade history, Marsden Estate has become known for the quality of its original cuisine and wines nnFresh produce is continually sourced from around the local region and the beautiful dishes are mainly served on the terrace, shaded by grapevines, overlooking the lake, gardens and vineyard or inside and lakesidennIt’s the perfect place for a long lunch accompanied by fabulous wines and friends nnI chose a wine flight, which is a selection of wine samples, and included two of their award winning reds.nnThere was such a friendly dog He would bring me a leaf and put it at my feet but before I can pick it up, he would snatch it away and run off just to come back two minutes later. Obviously I didn't understand the rules of the game
I only bother to write reviews when I’ve been particularly impressed by an establishment and want others to benefit. Had an excellent lunch today at the Marsden Estate which falls into that category. The wines Premium Flight, the food Ham hock followed by Snapper fillets on a bed of quinoa, the setting/ambiance, and the customer service were all outstanding. If you’re in the Kerikeri area give it a try, I doubt you’ll be disappointed.
Absolutely fabulous place for a relaxing lunch. Setting was spectacular, easy parking, wonderful grounds including walk down to the pond to see the ducklings. I had the 2 Boa Buns with soy glazed beef, selection of sliced vegetables and a chipotle mayo. First time I'd had bao buns, and would certainly return to have them again. Also dessert was a Marsden Mess, a meringue with fruit, so a wonderful time was had by us all. Highly recommended spot.
We had a beautiful lunch today. The staff are lovely. We are on keto diet so my beef fillet was modified to leave out the potatoes and it lacked nothing. My husband had the tuna. It was an excellent day out and excellent wine
