Margaret the lovely lady behind the counter greeted us, explained the layout of the museum. A lot of history that has been gathered over the years, love the way the displays light up when you press the buttons you are able to see the area it relates too. Very interesting collection. Reasonable $10 entry. Am surprised that with such a rich history, that they don't have more, especially considering that Marlborough was the initial settlement for Maori in NZ. Too bad that a lot of the really good fossils and relics from Marlborough reside in the Christchurch museum.
Nice small museum, a decent display of local pieces, quite well done With the added small town built nearby, also showing period items, There is a small gauge railway that operates, however we didn't use this as it didn't fit in with our timetable.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Has a reasonable display on wine but is half an advert for each of the wineries that donated each display or money. The area outside is a mocked up old town street, but has seen better days, kids found all the old stuff interesting though. There is a mini train and tourism boating lake. There are also lots of clubs based there, like the rock and mineral club amongst others.
Great collection, lots of interesting machinery well worth a visit
It's more of an exhibit of the different wine companies than the history of the region. I enjoyed more the free attractions outside.
Small, cute museum with captain Cook, Maori culture and Marlborough wine history exhibitions. Glad to see, free entrance.
It's a wonderful local Historical Museum . They change front area displays with current events - 'how it was when Marlborough was first lived in', ANZAC display pertaining to locals etc.Visited onPublic holiday
the mystery drawer if nature is really a wow and all the history of wines is really good for a wine newbie to get an intro.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Lovely museum, don't forget to visit the old train station and buildings out side. One thing really annoying was a very short soundtrack repeating.
