Marintec Ltd is a respected New Zealand provider of quality electronic solutions and services for land and marine application. We import and distribute several key brands into the South Pacific region and are also representative re-sellers for other leading market solutions. Our philosophy is to present the best equipment based on merit to suit our customer needs.

While we are a smaller sized company (team of seven), we have a particularly high technical capability and punch well above our weight – thanks to almost 150 years combined in-house electronics experience. Commercial marine electronics make up the lion’s share of our business - but we are quickly expanding into other markets such as agriculture, commercial industry and governmental enterprise. We also have solid communications and IT capability, and we continually collaborate with clients on various special projects.

It is our ability to service and revive faulty equipment – often at short notice in a tight time frame - that most impresses our clientele. As such, a significant portion of our new business is by referral from existing clients. Above all, we are passionate people and we work hard for our customers - and the formula is clearly working, given how the company is growing. Our client-base extends globally, to places such as South Africa, Argentina, Panama, Portugal, Spain and USA – to name a few.

Located in beautiful Timaru, Marintec was formed in 2013 when Julie and Callum McDonald purchased the electronics arm of Sullivan & Spillane – where Callum had worked since 1988. Callum was pleased to be able to retain the team from Sullivan and Spillane; the same awesome people with a new company name.

Marintec has a Secondary ACC Workplace Safety Management Practices (WSMP) Accreditation rating, usually reserved for medium to large companies (of 20 or more employees).
