I stayed here for 2 nights because I had a wedding in the area. The location is perfect, and if you don’t have a car, it’s an easy bus ride from Edinburg to the B&B and the other small towns around. The B&B is so cute and Bailey Heather’s dog makes it feel so homey. The beds are very comfortable and the rooms are big and spotless. There is a tinny fridge in the hallway upstairs stacked with water, milk and some snacks for guests. The breakfast is 10/10 and caters to everyone’s pallet including yogurt, fruits and seeds/nuts. Heather is so kind and very accommodating with everything from directions to tips for restaurants and things to see and do in the area. She is a great guide and a one of a kind host. I had really enjoyed my time here and I will definitely be coming back to stay here and visit more of the surrounding areas including the northern lights and have more good chats with Heather.
We had the most wonderful stay in this gorgeous homely B&B. Heather went above and beyond for myself and my partner. It was my partners birthday and it was all a surpise for him. Heather went out and got a few bits for him and even got him a cake with his age on the candles. I couldn't thank Heather enough for this. The breakfast was beautiful and plenty was available. The beds were extremely comfy, we both had two nights of amazing sleep. The location is perfect, not to far from the Gullane beach, Gullane centre and everything is within walking distance. In a car everything is easy to get from Gullane. Heather even helped us plan our journey into Edinburgh, so we didn't have to drive into the centre and provided us with all information we needed. Overall a fantastic stay and we can't wait to return!
The Maple Cottage B&B is delightful, all the moreso for Heather's meticulous attention to detail. The room had all the amenities one needed, all extremely comfortable and tidy. Heather was very hospitable from teas and coffees throughout as well as a better-than-hotel breakfast!! Would definitely come back again if in town!!Rooms: 5/5
Stayed at Maple cottage our room was perfect. Great size, spotlessly clean very comfortable. Received a warm welcome from Heather who was a superb host and she has great knowledge of the area and things do do. Breakfast was fantastic cooked to order and great quality. Over all made to feel at home, didn't want to leave. Look forward to staying again 10/10 .
We stayed two nights at Maple Cottage for a wedding at Archerfield House. We were looked after so well by Heather, from the moment we arrived to when we left. The room was spacious and well-appointed with a comfortable large bed and lovely bathroom. Breakfast was delicious - a choice of cereals, fresh fruit, yoghurt and cooked options too. Heather was so warm and chatty and recommended we visit North Berwick for lunch the day of the wedding which was an excellent tip be aware that parking can be tricky in summer. Maple Cottage was perfectly located for us to drive to the wedding a mere 5 min drive, taxi home £10 and walk to pick up the car the next day 30 mins. Highly recommended.
Words cannot describe the level of hospitality we received by Heather at her lovely B&B. We had such an amazing time walking around the town, having tea in the afternoons, and playing golf in the morning. We will be back for sure.
Stayed for two nights golfing. everything was excellent... breakfast very good fresh fruit salad to start.. plus Heather made you feel welcome... coffee and biscuits anytime... Great Stay..
