One of the best places to enjoy the views. The tower is open every day, so you can climb to the platform to look at the stunning scenery. Quite windy at the tower deck, please remember to wear a wind coat or thicker jacket. Blueberry ice cream van at the parking area. It is $6. Yummy!!! Walk through the farm gate to two Maori Sculptures. Nice view along the road.
It was a rainy day when we decided to check out this place. It was a drive out from Auckland and there was a steady drizzle the entire time. Luckily there wasn’t much of a wind and therefore it was still OK. The lighthouse has a magnificent view of the coast line and in particular the entrance into the bay. Am sure if you come on a nice day the views will be quite spectacular.
It feels like we were in Wellington with the very strong wind with breathtaking views and scenery. The climb was a mission for me who has acrophobia however bravo I made to the top though did not stay long outside. The drive was was another challenge but worth the trip, highly recommended
Beautiful place to be with good views of the waitakere ranges and South Auckland. Good read of the history surrounding this place. There's about 450m of gravel road to the parking area but overall a nice drive all the way.
Beautiful views. A fair bit of a drive and lots of sand flies near the top. Great photo opportunities. Lots of space to sit and have something to eat. There is another hill seperate you can walk up for a good view as-well as the normal lighthouse walk.
Absolutely stunning place. Beautiful views of the Manukau Harbour entrance and bar and the Waitakere Ranges. Also a very pleasant drive there. Ideal for a day trip on the weekend
Cool place to visit. Ensure you go on a clear day for best viewing. There are some average longdrop toilets at carpark if you're really urgent but the whole point is quite isolated. Actual lighthouse was locked but still a lovely view
This is one of the good picnic spots around Auckland. Approx 2 hours drive with beautiful views on the route. short distance walk from the car park and climb few steps to reach the lighthouse offering beautiful 360 degree views of the sea, mountains and places around. There’re no shops and food around so remember to carry food and water with you. Toilet facility’s available at the carpark. On the other side of the lighthouse there’s a mauri wooden structure and the tip of the mountain offering good views again. Typically you can spend half a day here. We Enjoyed spending most of our Saturday here!
Good to visit on a bright sunny day. Beautiful calm surrounding with sound of the sea breeze and squawking seagulls. What a peaceful vibe! You can even see the Sky Tower from here on a clear day.
Fantastic place. Well worth the drive there. A short walk from the car park, beautiful views of Manukau Heads, through to Auckland. Highly recommended.
