We needed a room late at night and they where the only accommodation that answered the phone and you could speak to a person. They waited for us and welcomed us after 11pm . Room was great, spacious and had a comfortable stay. Beautiful building with interesting history.
I caught the train down to Huntly and stayed here overnight as part of a personal digital detox - just taking a basic phone with me.nnGrabbed two books from the local St John op shop in town, and really enjoyed discovering the conservatory room in the hotel, sinking into a really comfy leather couch, and got lost in a book to the sound of gentle rain outside.nnWas seriously the best!nnThis is a country hotel in a converted maternity hospital. The conversion to a hotel was done really well but keep in mind that you can have either character or perfection in a place, but not both. It's the imperfections that contribute to the wonderful warm cosy character of a place like this! I loved it, and would definitely stay here again if I need another bit of personal getaway time. With any luck I can make it an annual thing. I do hope the train through Huntly keeps running!
The rooms are basic but very comfortable and clean and well equipped. The service is outstanding and the grounds and building are stunning. Excellent value for money. Really enjoyed my stay!
Lovely view, comfy beds, great service. This used to be a maternity hospital, building is beautiful and has good vibes. Kids wanted to add that they LOVED the spa bath!
If you want a clinically flawless experience, choose the Hilton. But if you're up for a bit of magic, and don't mind stepping through that proverbial wardrobe into Narnia, then you've come to the right place. Manor Views oozes character and charm. Perfect for a quick retreat from Auckland. The hosts are courteous and gracious. There is a shalom that permeates the place. Finally, I do recommend the nearby lake walk.nnThere's not many reasons to stop at Huntly. But this is one of them.
