Cool spot to take the kids fishing on a sunny day. Decent number of fish swim through based on the fish we caught. Be aware of the current. It can move through there quite quickly. Is close to the fish'n'chip shop and a leisurely stroll through through Mangonui.
Awesome place yo start your children off fishing, plenty of sprats and if your lucky the odd snapper, trevally or kingi. Had a great time here meeting the locals and learning the tricks of the trade
Mangonui is a great place to stop if you are travelling to the far North of Northland, In addition to a pleasant seafront view there are a number of cafes and art shops as well as hotels. The best known feature is however the Fish and Chip shop which is world famous in New Zealand and really good
Awesome place for fishing and meeting people...close to all good eating places, toilets, 4squares an awesome place to shop and has best pies, awesome walks along the boardwalk... enjoyable place to be, and freedom camping just down the road.
Beautiful little detour on our way to Kaitaia, only a few minutes off Highway 10. A few spots to eat plus public toilets and ofcourse gorgeous views
