This place has one of the nicest dining area I've been for a fishing chips shop! Apart from the amazing view and running water underneath the seats, the place is so clean and the staff are very friendly. The only downside is that it's more on the pricey side but overall it's still worth it.Food: 5/5
Awesome place for lunch, the fish is extremely fresh and delicious. However the batter can be slightly done better, it wasn't as crispy as I had hoped and slipped off the fish when picked up. Chips were great and the battered mussel and oyster were good. Oyster felt a bit under sized for the price that was paid though. Overall good experience as the people there were very friendly.
So good even the local seabirds want some! Some of the best fish and chips on the planet. Crispy fried breading. Fresh fish. Crispy chips. The right amount of salt. So good. The fish was cooked relatively quickly as well. We tried several types of fish. They we all good. Only downside is they charge for extra sauce. Prices are already high enough that they shouldn't do that, but we've seen it elsewhere in NZ. At least we don't have to tip in NZ! Parking can be challenging.
Really good fish and chips, with a bit more of a fancy vibe - they have prawn cocktails and seafood baskets. All fresh seafood directly from the ocean outside, lovely views, great location. Just a bit expensive but you might as well eat there in the stunning location, it’s worth it.
We've been stopping here for years & this time I introduced my small tour European tour group to this "world famous" Fish & Chip shop. They checked, it's really in their guide book... snapper was already out an hour before closing that was to be expected but plenty of other options and we even got seats inside. Super service as always and of course the food was tasty too. The only thing that would be great is a "water station" so the friendly young man who was serving drinks can concentrate on selling them instead of filling individual glasses of water which are free:- that way customers who'd love just a water can help themselves...However that's just a tiny suggestion. Love coming here.
A very attractive seafood shop to stop for a snack or a meal next to the water. Varieties to choose from: seafood baskets, burgers, fish and chips, or order individual items. Even Varieties of drinks and beers are good with the seafood.
Usually I can't stand the classic fish and chips, too greasy, but this is just a whole different level. Delicious fillets of fish with a light and crispy batter. The chips are nice and crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle. We also had scallops which were nice and fat and juicey. Bit on the pricey side but you get what you pay for. Will definitely be going back.
Not a bad place to have a bite after time at the beach. Great views and plenty of seating. Fish was quite fresh but price is quite dear.
Best summed up as expensive but worth it. By comparison, definitely at the higher end of cost on most items. But the quality of their food is top-notch. Busy place with great views. Friendly staff and plenty of parking. If they weren't so far out of my way I would visit more regularly.Food: 5/5
Absolutely delicious fussh and chips! Very good prices, fresh and tasty! The view is so beautiful and relaxing. Lovely to go there on a sunny day!
