I just had the worst pie in history, a smoked fish and potato top pie. Should read a potato pie. There was nothing else in it other than dried potato, Into the bin it went. the pastry was dry and breaking up, potato dry and tasteless and not a taste of fish. Dont stop here, keep driving, a BP pie or a supermarket pie are 10 times better than this rubbish they call a pie.
Bought a maketu steak and cheese pie from countdown. BIG FAIL. 2 pieces of meat mainly gristle half filled with gravy and the pastry was not as nice as I thought it would be. NOT buying again
Maketu pastries were once one of the best. 1 star is generous now. Supermarket pies are full of gristle and poor meat. Sausage rolls are at least edible, just !!!

I just had your butter chicken pie and it was delicious. Actually had pieces of chicken in it! The pastry was of a superior standard to any other supermarket pie. After exhaustive tests I declare Maketu the best pie to be found at the supermarket. Most pies are loaded with gravy with no meat to be detected and plonk pastry. I will be a regular consumer. Keep up the fabulous standard.
