Wharekahu Urupa Maketu Cemetery is the resting place of my ancestors including Danish seafarer Captain Philip Tapsell Hans Homen Felk, his third wife Hine i turama and their off spring. Rest in peace
This cemetery has a lot of Maketu history contained in there. It is well kept. Lawns etc tidy. Steep road down to new burial places.
Ummm how do you rate a cemetery when you have been there? What a dum thing to have to rate. For me the experience was very sad having to bury my grandfather. Would not reccomend it for anyone else??
Beautiful and very lovely place, for my great Grandmother and some of her children are laying in there.
