About

Calling on people to collectively contribute to building much needed resources for impoverished regions around the world

Story

Lindsay and Dalaine Walker sponsor seven children throughout the world. They have visited them all over the past few years, and are deeply moved by their individual circumstances. Their desire is to build much needed resources for their sponsor children, their families and the wider communities. Lindsay and Dalaine pay for all their own travel and arrangements, money raised through this page and other fundraising initiatives will go directly to the projects.

Their current focus is with Harriet and the community of Kakuuto, Uganda. This is by far the most impoverished area that Lindsay has visited, 30,000 people live on the diseased flood plains of Kakuuto. The projects are ...

#projectharrietshouse - we want to relocate Harriet and her family of 11 to higher ground. We have a piece of land and plans for a solid brick house. This is an urgent project as the wet season starts in March.

#projectbakehouse - employment opportunity and training already exists through a bake house near the school. We want to supply them with upgraded equipment so they can continue training the next generation. We will be looking for the support of international bakery businesses to do this.

#projectchurchhub - Kakuuto Church is a meeting point for the community. It is the “ hub” of everything that happens…the School, Bakehouse, Compassion Children's project, outreach and evangelism. The old church is dangerous and hopelessly inadequate, Sunday Services are often crammed to the rafters on the inside with even more people trying to listen from outside. The leadership has had plans made for a new church and foundations have been laid. It will cost about USD $104,000 and make an immeasurable difference to the faithful leaders and community. We want to assist in the funding of this project and send a short-term missions team to help with construction.

#projectcoffee - Kakuuto has the right environment to grow great coffee. However, the people don't have the resources or training to develop this micro enterprise. We want to assist them in this to build a generation of income for years to come.

Please contact us if you would like to support any of our projects.
