An absolute must stop on your trip to Keri Keri, watching chocolatiers at work, as they create their amazing chocolates and chocolate dipped Shortbread. Samples made available to try for the day, and a wide variety of treats to choose from, even unique chocolate scented candles! Enjoyed our short stop and will be back again for their yummy truffles.
If you love delicious sweets this is the place for you, made on site these treats are simply to die for, they even have sugar free options. We purchased the cooler bag filled with treats, the whānau favourite was the macadamia brittle but they were all delicious. Highly reccomend a visit.
Amazing chocolate! My family and I went to grab some chocolate whilst on holiday, but, after tasting the complementary chocolates samples you get when you renter the store, we immediately fell in love! We ended up buying a lot more than expected, and ate it just outside the shop! Would recommend to anyone with a sweet tooth. The bakery was also amazing! I loved it! -my brother
A cute chocolate spot in kerikeri. Welcoming you with truffle chocolates as you enter the doors and it really has options to chose from.
Quite expensive for the variety of chocolates available in store. Though I think that goes towards the process of hand crafting the final product. Loved the sample handouts.
Well presented. This type of chocolate is very pricey however suits those who can afford it. Has such a variety of flavours which is good. Was given a large family box for Christmas and wow. Hit all the taste buds with ease
Staff are friendly and courteous. Chef was very accommodating and knew the ingredients to the meals, as garlic and onion doesn't agree with us. Had the beef skewers to share, which was served in two plates. Not a fan of lemongrass, bit it was so shuttle that is was amazing. Beef skewers were tender and flavoured to perfection. Somewhat sticky rice was full of flavour and went well with the slightly curried peanut satay sauce. The hot chocolate is very good and we recommend having a 50/50 between milk and dark chocolate. The desserts are fantastic and a lot of effort is put into the the taste and creation. Tiramisu was fantastic, being soft, flavour some, with a few varieties of textures.
Went up to Keri Keri and visiting the Makana cafe was at the top of my list. Ordered the hot choc, carrot cake and tried the ice cream. Everything was underwhelming, nothing special about the cake or hot choc. The ice cream was bland if you were blinded you wouldn’t be able to taste the flavour of them. Skip the cafe and just go straight to the Store and buy yourself the Macadamia Butter Toffee Crunch you will not be disappointed. Service was great too, staff were very friendly but yeah the cafe was a big let down for me.
Fun place. Lots yummy choices. Loved the free samples. Would have given 5 stars if it had a cafe inside serving hot drinks to have with the delicious chocolates. :-
This place was interesting to stop off at but I wouldn’t go out of your way! They offered a free sample twice whilst we were there - all delicious but sadly no nut free options at all for my partner. When I said he had a nut allergy, one of the staff looked blankly at me and didn’t make any attempt to allow him to try something else! Most of their products contain nuts so unless you are really into nuts this likely isn’t the shop for you!
