Mairangi Japanese Cuisine located inside of Green Gables shopping Centre at Mairangi Bay is an authentic Japanese restaurant newly opened in 2011.

'Mai-ran-gi(舞蘭木)' literally translates to 'Dancing Orchid Tree'.

Mairangi Japanese Cuisine provides comfortable atmosphere, quality service and pleasant music.

Above all, the delicious Japanese delicacy is served by our head chef with over 20 years of experience.

We believe and guarantee that you will enjoy fine dining whether it is for one, two or the whole family.

I love going to this place. Food tastes great, presentation looks very fancy. We'll go back again.
Not great unfortunately. Lovely authentic decor and good service. But, the food is very average. Expensive for what you get. Katsu chicken was dry and at $32.50 not worth it. 10 pieces of ordinary sushi $32.50!
I feel like this place has found its groove, they have nailed the menu and all flavours of each plate. It’s not your normal mundane Japanese spot, it’s more. The flavour combinations and the presentation of the food portrays its respectable maturity. It has a traditional vibe with authentic decor. Pricing is fair for the meals put in front of you
Perfection in Japanese food. Very well decorated place
This is a hidden gem in mairangi Bay. A day fantastic Japanese cuisine restaurant. It has everything you could want; sushi at the bar, well priced boxes or lunch or exquisite full meals and multi course meals. Imported Kirin beer is a big plus and everything we had was fantastic. I highly recommend this place for some authentic Japanese!
We visited on Sunday before 1pm for lunch. The restaurant was 50% full. Very professional staff, excellent customer service. We enjoyed the lunch special, Eel Box, Tofu Box, Udon and pork on rice. And those were all yummy.
The food is delicious. The staff is very polite. Family friendly they have high chairs and a child menu
Nice and cosy Japanese restaurant on the shore. Quiet environment to have lunch/dinner, highly recommended. Food is slightly more costly but worth the bucks. Definitely will come back again
A little on the higher end in terms of price, the menu at first glance looks expensive, but try it out for yourself and find out why it's worth it! Good atmosphere, food and service.
Local Japanese restaurant, food is good. Winter Tuesday night, restaurant still more than half of table occupy. If you try to dining over the weekend, I would recommend to book a table first.
