Our server was very nice. Polite and welcoming. Food was also good and the burger made me cry - I was happy to have eaten something so nice. The tomato soup was also lovely. Nice and tangy, it's no canned stuff ya. The fish and chips were normal, nothing stood out. The cook-your-own steak. Now. This is gorgeous. Can't blame anyone if the meat is tough! But bet you won't be able to mess it up. The meat itself was great! Super hot stone topped with salt all over and the meat will be placed on top. Sizzle but better! Had a good view of the Lake too should you sit close to the windows. We were to hungry to bother about table placements Vegetarian options: I think I saw plant based options in menu. Parking: Easy and plenty.
An awesome stone grill dining experience. We ordered stone grill option and porkbelly. Both meals were delicious good portions. Prices are great too compared to some other restaurants around. Good selection of craft beers and cocktails. Staff was very friendly and service was great. Only feedback would be table not having too close as when people grill the food smoke often goes to others table which could be a nuisance for others around but otherwise fantastic experience and will be back for sure.
We ordered 4 meats grill, and waited for an hour and a half. I wonder how four pieces of raw meat took such a long time. We ordered this meal because the staff told us it won't take a long time approx 20mins the staff said, and we were in a rush.
Lovely meal, I’d go out on a limb and say it was the best salmon I’ve ever had! So deliciously melt-in-the-mouth, and serving it on the ratatouille was a nice touch. My husband had stone grill beef and chicken and loved his as well. Very happy, very impressed, if we weren’t going back to Australia tomorrow we’d dine here again. Highly recommend.
Very nice cafe. We had our lunch here. Tasty food and awesome service. The Nepalesejust guessing guy was really good. Great Experience.
I understand that they were busy during the holidays but the staff were intially quite standoffish. They were more welcoming when we were seated and even better when they were starting to close. As for the food, it was a pretty long wait but boy was it worth the wait! Thank God for that, we were starving! The pork belly was so moist, melted in your mouth and all the flavours were on point. My steak was beautifully done and simply hit the spot. Thank you for an overall wonderful experience.
We came for lunch with our baby, beautiful Stonegrilled mixed meat platter, fries and an iced chocolate. Very friendly and attentive service. Great to support our NZ tourism industry again!
Quite likely the best place to eat in Tekapo. We had the High Country stonegrill. A piece of venison, beef and lamb served on a hot stone to cook to your own liking. The venison was absolutely fabulous, with the beef and lamb very good. Friendly uncomplicated service, and a great selection of local wines by the glass.Food: 4/5
This is a great place to dine with friends and family. I highly recommend one of the sizzling stone options. Cook your steak how you want, right on your plate, at your table. Really nice meat and veg options.
Was sat very fast and served fast I got a cordon bleu but once we got our food they didn't come do the ordinary "does everything look okay" to us like they did to other customers. This wouldn't normally be a problem but my chicken was served to me raw see the photos attached and as a very anxious person I didn't have the guts to get a servers attention myself. Once realising the chicken was raw they did offer me a free dessert and not having to pay for my meal. None the less of how I was treated after, being served raw chicken is unacceptable.
