A fantastic market with tons of variety. Many vendors are cash-only, but there’s a nearby ATM. Pavlover has amazing personal pavlovas, and was the only place I could find them in the Christchurch area. Definitely worth the bus fare down from Christchurch.
Three farmers markets in the city, probably this is my favorite especially when good weather. Great varieties of vegetables, fruits, food and many other interesting things in the market. Some great coffee, restaurants, bars and shops are also nearby.
Great selection of stalls and entertainment. Parking is a bit of a mission if you don't get there early though and the side streets are on a very steep gradient. Not an easy walk for those a little more mature : Market is dog friendly too which was very pleasant, love to see the cute pooches wandering around.
Amazing Saturday market for small treats of local food and fresh fruits/vegetables. It's already autumn when we visited and it's chilly out there, but there were still many vendors and visitors. Local people are friendly and welcoming, so it always feels like home. They are open between 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., so plenty of tume just to wander around. Will be back when weather is much better.
It is considered quite a small market compared to the Sunday market. There's coffee station, prelove stuff, fresh vegetables, venison burgers, white bait bread, and breads. Not many stalls there, hope more is coming. But overalls are not bad, especially the bread, which is tasty. There are also few gift shops besides the market, which you can pay a visit to.
