You are in good hands. David studied the art of traditional Hawaiian Lomi Lomi and Hula in Hawai'i and Hungary and have been practicing them for 6 years.
Lomi Lomi is a unique blend of both deep-tissue and relaxation massage and therapeutical modalities. It's all about wrapping you in Aloha, divine love, in order to awaken your own self-healing mechanisms, and to alleviate stress, muscle tensions and negative subconscious patterns. Lomi Lomi practitioners use the palms and forearms instead of the fingers only.
In the Hawaiian tradition, Lomi Lomi means "to rub and roll" and it is done as a loving, full body massage in that the practitioner touches and treats you with love, respect and compassion. The massage works by stimulating the natural flow of energy within the body in order to bring about changes in the physical, emotional and spiritual levels of self. Stress and tension is released so that energy can flow freely and your own self-healing mechanisms also start operating. It is also deeply relaxing.
David Kohout, originally from Hungary is a traditional Hawaiian Lomi Lomi massage therapist, architect, permaculturist and musician.
He learnt the art of Lomi Lomi in Hungary six years ago and later he took advanced Lomi Lomi and Hula courses in Hawai'i and again in Hungary. He's a practitioner at Sherwood, Queenstown @sherwoodwellbeing and also works with private clients.
The most common feedback his massages receive "I've never had anything as relaxing and beautiful as this before...". It is indeed different.
