A full 5 star rating for this one. Not only because we had a very special event booked with them, but it was just a spot on and unforgettable one... the atmosphere, the service, the whole setup, just great Kate Malcolm&Team!!!Rooms: 5/5
A group of us were celebrating a special weekend and booked into the lodge and the Perfect Day Snorkle cruise to the Poor Knights. The lodge was outstanding, rooms, large, comfortable, and beautifully designed. the whole facility was the best we have experienced, with amazing attentive hosts. The cruise is a must-do, and the fabulous crew really do make it a must-do trip. Can't wait to go back. A huge shout out to Kate and her team.
Kate is a great host and the room was lovely and spacious shared common living room and kitchen. You can even book a dive and snorkel as they own that business as well. Totally recommend Kim and Eva Moscrip Will be back again soon
Our family had the lodge to ourselves for 4 nights while doing a PADI course with Dive! Tutukaka and it was brilliant! We loved the cool pool and sauna and the location was perfect, easy walking distance to shops and restaurants and the marina in beautiful Tutukaka. Our host Kate made us feel so at home and was super accommodating when we ended up staying an extra night due to a sudden lockdown. Highly recommend, especially the Learn to Dive package!
We stayed 4 nights at Lodge 9 in a last minute much holiday needed holiday. The diving was first class. Very experienced crew made us feel very comfortable and confident. Spent a lot of time at neighbouring beaches solo, then enjoyed the company of fellow holiday makers in the evenings. We will be back for sure. Thank you Kate for making such a nice environmentfor relaxing and taking in the beauty of northland!
Called at around 9pm asking if there were any reservations for tonight as we had travelled 3 hours for a funeral today and our current accomodation was riddled with insects only to be told ‘not really’ not in the most pleasant way either due to it being too late, despite the website stating there were rooms available. Pretty disappointing considering we were willing to pay upwards of $300 for less than a 12 hour stay. Place looks great but I guess it’s only accomodating if the check in is at the perfect time of the day. Understandable it was a last minute booking but a more friendly approach wouldn’t have hurt.
We stayed at Lodge 9 during our Open Water Dive course and felt like royalty- it has to be the best place we have ever stayed! The rooms are tastefully designed, cosy yet super spacious with lots of very appreciated small touches dressing gowns, toiletries, teas, coffees, filtered water..... The common areas were the perfect retreat after a long day of diving, and we really made the most of the fire, sauna!! and big comfy sofas. Kate is so lovely and hospitable, too. We were the only people in the Lodge during our stay, yet each morning Kate provided us with the most incredible and huge breakfast spread freshly baked bread, fresh fruit, eggs, granola, yoghurt, the list goes on...! The pictures really don't do justice of how luxurious this place is. We found Lodge 9 to be nothing short of perfect in everyway. Thank you so much for creating such a special memory. Harleigh and James xx
Lodge 9 is the perfect place to stay if you are visiting anywhere near Tutukaka. It's family run and absolutely gorgeous in every single way. We did our Dive Course while staying at the Lodge with Dive Tutukaka, and it was great as you are a two minute walk to the Dive offices to get ready in the morning. Kate provides an array of breakfast in the morning, including deliciously smelling fresh bread, fresh fruit and muesli. This preps you perfectly for a full day of exploring Poor Knights. The Lodge was kept beautifully clean and was quiet during our stay which was bliss when you needed those extra zz's. This place is so wholesome and is in walking distance to everything you need. The place even included a little book library in case you wanted to read something else! There is a courtyard just outside the Lodge where you can enjoy your own lunch or dinner, or head down to Snappa Rocks which is just opposite the Dive shop. Can confirm you will love this stay just as much as I have.
Only visited but saw 1 room which was spacious. The pool looked really awesome with glass areas where you could watch wannabe mermaids.
After traveling 3hrs and visiting Tutakaka for a funeral we had accomodations that fell thru . We rung here after seeing that they had rooms available online ,The lady on reception was not welcoming or pleasant and at 8.55 said it was to late for them . If that's the case don't advertise rooms available online, and reception is open till 9 . Website states friendly and helpful but was far from true I wouldn't recommend or think of visiting in the future . UnFriendly and unwelcoming staff .
