The first discovery of a workable Gold Field in Otago was made by Edward Peters (Black Peter) at Glenore in 1859.
Alan has researched the Gold mining history of the area, and has a vast amount of information available on request
The cottage now serves as a small shop, currently stocking Honey products from the New Zealand Honey Company, and free range eggs from the chooks onsite, Native New Zealand plants will be available in the near future
