We were driving pass Rakaia and decided to do a quick stop for coffee and food. The ladies were friendly and the food is wonderful.nMy children loved the sausage roll and ham& cheese croissant nMy husband got himself a flat white, and I got myself a smoked chicken sandwich. The sandwich is absolutely lovely, fresh& delicious, and great value for money.nI tried looking up cafes on Google but didn't see this place. So I hope this review will help bump them up. I'm glad we caught sight of it while driving pass. I've put a star on it now, so that we won't miss it should we be in the area next.nTotally recommend. 5 stars
On the Boxing Day, still hard to find a cafe open. The red house is really attractive and the cafe is open!nThe have a really antique atmosphere and the decoration is very nice. There are old couples who have their coffee and cakes which make the feeling so good.n The lady recommended me the cinnamon roll which is really good! Recommend!nThe flat white is ok.nThere have some homemade cupcakes looks really nice!
If you head down a side street off the main highway through Rakaia you'll find The Little Red Cafe in a big red building - you'll see it right infront of you if you park up to use the public toilets. Anyway, I always stop here, the coffee is fantastic! Never had anything to eat, but the cabinet food looks great, and the nice lady who runs it is super friendly. The place just has a cool, old school rural vibe and well worth a visit.

A gem hidden in plain sight! Quirky decor with delicious homemade sandwiches. We ate the fresh ham and cheese croissant and fabulous pulled pork sandwich. Love supporting local businesses. Enjoy!
