I am a natural light Christchurch based photographer specialising in newborn, child and family photography.

Story

My name is Karla and I own Little Poppits Photography here in Christchurch. I am married to Chris and Mum to our daughter Honor who is 5; she is my inspiration and motivation behind Little Poppits! I have always had a real love for photography – from a young age it fascinated me that you could press a button and capture an image that you could keep forever, long after the moment had passed. After Honor was born photography became a very important part of my life. I wanted to capture everything about her. Through doing this I discovered I had a talent for photography and so this amazing journey began.

I photograph families of all ages but I have an extra special love of working with preschoolers. I love nothing more than chasing energetic toddlers around a park and feel an immense sense of pride when I nail a beautiful photo for their Mum and Dad! I have a lovely way with kids, they like me and I adore working with them. I allow plenty of time for every session; I bring with me an endless amount of patience and make the whole experience enjoyable and fun. I have even won over the odd husband too ;)

My newborn lifestyle sessions are done at home. I want those Mums who feel overwhelmed and tired to know they don’t need to leave the house, that I will come to them and bring everything I need and they just need to sit back and relax. It is such a special time for new parents but the newborn stage does pass in a flash! It is a pleasure for me to come into your home and capture your tiny newborn baby and document this special time.

I absolutely love my job; creating Little Poppits Photography is without a doubt one of the most rewarding things I have ever done.
