General Auctions are held every 2 to 3 weeks on Saturdays at 11 am. Antique, Art & Collectable Auctions are held quarterly. See our website for photos and dates of upcoming auctions. www.lipscombeauctionhouse.co.nz
We accept cash, cheque, eftpos and internet banking.
Absentee & phone bids are welcome.

I have not used your auction house before but from what I can see is that when called out on selling non authentic items through your auction, you block them from your page. I would expect a well known and long time running auction house could tell the difference between a fake and a non fake. You’ve been told multiple times an item is fake and yet you will still not advertise it fake letting people get caught out. You have people bidding from around the country and some can’t view the item in person. If you can’t authenticate an item then maybe you hire someone who can do so from now on so buyers aren’t left out of pocket. :
Absolutely appalling. I bought 120 Morgan dollars and they were all FAKE! You can only imagine how much money I have lost. I would never recommend this place to anyone, ever. Lipscombe auctions do not give me the automated message like you have done to others, I want answers. Horrible people.
Had a glitch occur with the app while I was bidding on a lot that meant I was told I had the winning bid when the lot closed but then when checking later was shown I had lost, even though the winning bid was the amount I was shown to be winning with. Contacted them immediately the same day to sort out, they said they knew of this problem with the app. I asked if we could continue the bidding to resolve the issue and was told no, the item was sold, then ignored. Have since found out that complaints about this auction provider are quite common. I tried what I thought was a reasonable approach to solving an issue but not happy with how this was handled at all. Will not be coming back.
Makes up his own rules...unfair trading practices. Not a member of Auctioneers Association of N.Z. avoid. I waited over an hour online for the item I wanted to come up, when I bided he just decided it was not enough and cancelled the bid, there was no reserve. I don't like my Sunday afternoon being wasted!!!
They sell fake coins and bullion items and refuse to give refunds. Extremely dishonest people.
First time I've been to this auction rooms. It was well laid out free tea and coffee available during the auction also biscuits too. There was a good atmosphere within the room. There was some real bargains some a little expensive but overall a great place to get something at a good price.
New owners so things aren't going as smoothly as they should but I'm sure things will improve as lessons are learnt. A great form of entertainment even if you're not bidding on anything.
