The top of the rock is no longer accessible. But the walk half way up is still definitely worth it. Such beautiful scenery and uninterrupted views from up there.nPS, there are a few caves in the rock. Just walk around and you'll find them.
This walk is quite quick, unfortunately you cannot go all the way to the top anymore and there is a sign stopping you but the view half way is pretty sweet. It again is quite steep but managable - just take your water and sun hat and you will be fine.
Beautiful short climb to the middle of the rock. Summit is no longer accessible due to rock fall and unstable surface, but still worth you time and effort.
Piha is amazing and lion rock is a great view of the whole area! Worth the hike up the hill for 360 degree views
Truely stunning place. Lion Rock, Piha is the eroded neck of a volcano. You can still walk up to about half way up and the views are really worth the huff and puff.
