Nice place with good vibe and friendly. Bad design however putting library next to performance stage. I had travelled to use the wifi and study when a very loud children’s performance started, not what is to be expected from a library.
Very well resourced for hours of learning and expanding future ambitions. Pockets of quiet study spaces on both floors. Coffee and cafe on site. History Room. A staffed local travel and tourism counter. Childrens learning wing. Gift store and Gallery foyer with monthly local art for sale. Conference and meeting rooms for hire. Friendly and knowledgable staff.
I enjoy Levin Library, all most always have the books I'm interested in, nice having coffee and cake at the cafe there, enjoy the works of art on display. Great staff too. So many activities seem to happen there. Great place to catch up with friends.
The library space is well used and the environment interesting and tidy. Although I realise that because it is a multi purpose facility it would be nice if it could be quieter for people who like to sit down and read or choose books. If you have speakers maybe they could do that in one of your rooms. I visited the library on Thursday Dec. 16th to choose books. There was a speaker and a good group of listeners just over from the coffee shop. The speaker was very loud and listeners asking questions. It was truly off putting and I was happy to leave ASAP.
Generally find most written material that I want to read.nIs a small library in comparison to the Wellington one assuming that it is still in operation as they received a closure notice because of earthquake risk. Two or three stories tall and quite modern I don't know how that passed building inspection.nLevin library gets books in for a small fee.nHave a nice little cafe open Monday through Friday. Wish it operates on the weekend. People socialise.
