Follow well known north Queensland angler / guide / writer, Les Marsh, as he relocates to New Zealand and explores the angling opportunities there.
Les Marsh, well known angler from Tropical North Queensland and owner of Fishing Cairns, has made the trip across the ditch to relocate to New Zealand. Along with his partner, Deborah, they will be setting up home on the family farm near Matakan, North Auckland.
This picturesque country town is close to tidal water access of the Sandspit, gateway to the magic waters of Kawau Island, Omaha Bay and Snells Beach (to name a few)...it is really not that far form the famed Coromandel Peninsula.
These are all well known sport fishing hotspots for snapper, kingfish and kawahai...and I hope to be getting amongst these prized piscatorial targets real soon. And then of course we have dozens of fresh water river & lake options for salmon and trout - bring it on!
